Calling all dill pickle lovers!! This is a must try at least once!
How this all started is …. lately in my facebook page, I have been seeing people eating this delicious dill pickle pizza from Rhino’s Pizzeria and Deli in Webster, New York; called the Big Dill. Well.. who doesn’t like cheese and pickles and well, lets add some garlic to the situation!
I am all in for trying this recipe out “vegan style.” Yeah! So I said to Danielle! Lets do it! Lets make a Vegan Dill Pickle Pizza! Of course, she said “yes” to the adventure, as she loves dill pickles!
I really wanted to get the creamy sauce right! I wanted it to be creamy, dilly and healthy! I wanted it to be Dr. Greger approved haha!! So I came up with a really good sauce, but it certainly can be tweaked more but it worked great!
So to begin, we decided to use a ready made pizza crust, as it seemed really healthy and not much fuss! Because we wanted something healthy and easy haha! win win!!
Next, was the sauce! The first time I made the sauce, I did it without any pesto! The green sauce in the picture, is just from the pesto, otherwise it was a really white sauce. So the ingredients for the sauce was:
- 1 can of white kidney beans drained and rinsed
- 3 cloves of garlic ~ more if you like
- squeeze 1/2 lemon
- 2 tablespoons of Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons of the vegan pesto
- 2 small slices of dill pickle
We used our vitamix to mix all this up so it was creamy and smooth!! Now, all you have to do is spread the mix on the crust! Voila! If you use the pesto, it will get a green colour! What a great pizza idea for St. Patrick’s Day Celebration!
We decided to put the dill pickles on first, then the cheese, but its definitely just a preference thing! I know, as I used to make pizzas and subs when I was kid for years!
VEGAN CHEESE TIP! put it in the freezer for 30 minutes then shred it!
Big shout out to MAIN VEGAN DELI CHEESE! We love Helen’s cheese, well we love all her products, and we really love her haha! You have to meet her and her team and her food! Road trip for everyone!! We used her no buffalo mozza nut cheese!! Her products are ethically and locally sourced, organic and always non GMO. Please check out her store and her facebook page! Main Vegan Deli

In the oven it goes, 400 degrees for about 10 to 14 minutes with this crust! Depending on the crust you use, will depend on the temperature, but for us it was 12 minutes. Look at the cheese melt on this yummy!! yummy!!
Wow, the pizza is amazing and it is so good cold as well! Would you try a vegan dill pickle pizza? Let us know in the comments below, or if you changed anything in the recipe so we can all benefit from your input!!
